Tips on Quickly Achieving Fluency in Japanese

Last updated on June 20, 2018 in Japaneseexplorer

Learning a new language is enjoyable until you realise that it is not all fun and games, especially if you are learning a language as complex as Japanese. While there are a lot of good Japanese language schools in Singapore, practising on your own and having a dedicated self-study session usually eases the difficulty of learning a new language.

In general, learning a new language entails three important aspects: knowledge, practice, and experience. The most essential of these three is practice. It is a great way to build your vocabulary and get used to a specific language. With all these available Japanese courses in the country, learning japanese in singapore will not be hard.

It is not impossible to improve your skills, in fact, with just a bit of so-called “hacks” and determination, you can actually speak Japanese fluently in no time! Aside from your own motivation and self-confidence, try some of our tips below to help you get acquainted with the Japanese language in a flash:

Calm Down
Don’t know where to begin? Take a deep breath and calm down. You should not expect yourself to master everything at first. Overwhelming yourself with too much information is not really helpful to learning. Start by getting familiar with things one step at a time.

Practice
Probably the most clichéd tip that you will ever hear is to practice. Just as the old saying goes, “practice makes perfect”. Allot a few minutes or an hour per day for your own self-study session. You can also practice by talking aloud when reading short phrases or words. Set a number of words to be read aloud every time you have your own study time. Getting a hang of each word as they come is a great way to raise your comfort with the Japanese language.

Watch Japanese TV Shows
One fun way to get used to the Japanese language is by watching a TV show, or even anime. Hearing native Japanese speak their language helps you get the hang of the tone, pronunciation, and correct diction of each word. You may not it at once, but it will surely be very beneficial for you as you go along and learn more about the Japanese language. Watching Japanese TV shows is almost like attending your very own Japanese lessons in Singapore, the only difference is that it can be done at home as a supplementary material or resource.

Write, Write, and Write
Write down important tips and helpful notes so you can look at them again. Knowing different tips can help you better learn a new language. Remembering important details will make your learning go smoothly and definitely a tad easier than trying to bombard your brain with information you cannot even remember.

In conclusion, perfecting and getting fluent in your ability to speak and write Japanese requires hard work, patience, and confidence. Expect that you will make mistakes and that these should not hinder you to work even harder to achieve your goal!
